Marlea (Reeves) Post, 80, of North Platte, Nebraska went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Linden Court. Marlea was born on September 19, 1943 the daughter of Carroll and Alberta (Sherman) McNeel.
She was raised on a ranch north of North Platte and attended Rosedale country school and North Platte high school. She married Merle Reeves on February 26, 1960 and together they had three sons. Marlea was a loving mother, grandmother, and accomplished seamstress and quilter. She worked at Jared's Bridal, Herberger's, and Hirschfeld's for many years. She was a member of Bethel Evangelical Free Church in North Platte. She was married to Vance Post on June 12, 1996. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Don Borron, and stepson Eric Post.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Vance Post; former husband, Merle Reeves of North Platte; sons, Kent (Linda) Reeves of Hayesville, NC, Steve Reeves of North Platte, and William "Bill" Reeves of North Platte; grandsons, Kevin (Sarah) Reeves, Kody Reeves, Quinten (Shayna) Reeves, Kameron Reeves, and Zeb Burke; brother, Richard (Carol) McNeel of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Janene (Ken) Huffman of Dallas, GA; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are stepson, Greg (Nicole) Post; stepdaughter, Lucinda Olszewski; and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Geoff Safford officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30th from 2-4 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
