Obituary

Marlin Duane (M.D.) Jobman, age 77 of North Platte, passed away January 11, 2014 at North Platte. He was born September 28, 1936 to George and Catherine Jobman at Sidney, NE. Marlin was an avid hunter and fisherman. The Canada goose was his favorite quarry. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years at both Sidney and North Platte, beginning as a fire knocker and crew dispatcher, and later as engineer for 20 years. In 1984, he married Clara and moved to "The Farm" and spent time raising calves, Canada geese, ducks, and pheasants. He thoroughly loved the country life. He is survived by his wife; Clara, children; Ginger (Derek) Erdman, Stacy (Lawrence) Gant, and Todd (Heather) Wickware, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sons, Craig, Steven, and Richard, parents, and a sister. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Private family burial service will be prior at the Riverview Cemetery at Sutherland. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
