Mary Etta Thompson, 91, of Curtis passed away June 15, 2019 at Great Plains Health.
She was born February 12, 1928 at Curtis to Bert and Ethel Mae (Wills) Willford. She graduated from University of Nebraska School of Agriculture High School with the class of "48". She was united in marriage to Howard Thompson and they lived southwest of Curtis. She was employed at Wal-Mart for the last 15 years. Mary enjoyed playing piano, especially for her grandchildren, and crocheting, and working on the farm.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Eileen) Thompson and Dewayne both of Curtis; seven grandchildren, Justin, Casey, Maggie (Mac), Jessica (Mike), Colby (Amber), Krysta (Kyle) and Katie (Ryan); ten great grandchildren, Waylon, Natasha, Paisley, Sierra, Channing, Wyland, Madaline, Parker, Pearson and Blake; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; daughter, Phyllis Thompson; two brothers, Stuart and Kenneth; sister, Ella, and a daughter-in-law, Magdalene Thompson.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at The First United Methodist Church of Curtis with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating. Visitation will be noon until service time Thursday at the church in Curtis. Cremation will follow the services. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com . Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church of Curtis or the Curtis Volunteer Fire Department. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in care of arrangements.
