Melanie Carol (Lamb) Shannon , 56, of Kearney, formerly of North Platte, passed away September 28, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney surrounded by her family.

She was born November 1, 1962, in Greenwood, Mississippi to Lyal L. and Naomi G. (Palmertree) Lamb. She enjoyed spending her time shopping, cooking and listening to music.

Melanie is survived by her children, Christopher L. Lamb, Melanie M. Chapman, Jennifer E. Shannon, Lane Shannon, Jr. and Stacy A. Shannon; twelve grandchildren; two siblings and her significant other Matt Skunda and her dog, Henry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lane Shannon, Sr.; her parents, Lyal L. and Naomi G. (Palmertree) Lamb; a grandaughter and Melanie's dog, Sprocket.
