Michele Marie Blue, age 54, of Brady, NE, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Great Plains Health surrounded by loved ones.

Michele was born November 23, 1970 in O'Neill, NE, to Thomas and Judy (Riley) Frerichs.

Her family moved to North Platte where she spent her youth, often involved in many sports. In high school she lettered in volleyball and basketball and was on the state champion softball team. She graduated from North Platte High School in the Class of 1989. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Darren Edward Blue, and they were wed July 14, 1990 and built their lives together for 34 years. To this union God gave their beloved son Ricky. Now in the working-world, Michele let her fiery-spirit from sports transfer to a passion for work. She held many successful jobs in banking and insurance sales, working for Commerce Federal Credit Union, Hub International Limited, and Western Nebraska Bank.

Though she was a hard worker, she never neglected her hobbies. Darren and Michele traveled to almost every state in the Union showing rabbits and going on adventures. They both competed in circle track racing, with an exceptionally notable victory against her mother-in-law Deb. While she was adventurous, she was also a woman of few words with an appreciation for more subdued activities. She was known as a skilled fisherwoman and as someone diligent in study of the Word and prayer. She frequently attended Bible Study and though she rarely spoke, her kind nature and beautiful soul shone so bright that she was never without friends. In all that she did, she led by example, which is no where more apparent than in her parenting. She was a loving and dedicated mother who never uttered a harsh word, but was unafraid to lay down the law. Even now she is looking out for her family here on Earth from her home in Heaven.

Those left to cherish Michele's memory are her husband, Darren; son Ricky Cecil Blue; parents Thomas and Judy Frerichs; parents-in-law Charles and Deb Stuart; sister Melanie McClellen; sister- in- laws April and Justin Hodges of Maywood, NE and Kim and Harold Stuart of Bridgeport, NE and many more friends and family whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her brother Andrew Frerichs; grandparents Fred and Omamae Frerichs and Forrest and Helen Riley; brothers-in-law Steve McClellen and Shawn Blue; father-in-law Cecil Blue; and grandparents-in-law Ralph and Laura Blue.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, NE, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeffery Cottingham officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Visitation will be held from 12-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 with family accepting guests from 5-7 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been trusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for future designation.
