Orval Coykendall, 95 passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 in Lone Tree, Colorado. He was born April 8, 1923 in Maywood, Nebraska. He is survived by his son Dale (Barb) Coykendall, grandsons Jake (Nicole) Coykendall and Adam Coykendall, and three great grandchildren, Lilly, Mackenzie, and Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Frida, aunt, Donna Calkins and his wife of 52 years, Donna Sellers Coykendall. Orval graduated from Maywood High School and attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri until he was drafted into the Army Air Corp. in 1943. He served in France during WWII. He returned to Maywood after the War, met and married Donna in 1949 and farmed the family homestead until 1955. A back injury took him to North Platte where he pursued an accounting career that took him to Alliance in 1963 and back to North Platte in 1970. He and Donna moved to Denver, Colorado after retirement to watch their grandchildren grow up. Orval always enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and storytelling and playing cards. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens south of North Platte.  Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is care of arrangements.
