Paul Gene Adkinson, 91, of North Platte, NE departed this life for Heaven on March 18, 2026. Paul “Gene” was born in Imperial on October 15, 1934 to Francis and Winnie (Nicholson) Adkinson. He married the love of his life, Beverley Gibson on August 14, 1955. Paul and Beverley both attended the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis, NE. Paul later graduated from Pacific Grove School of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Paul and Beverley lived in Sidney, Nebraska for years where he had his optometry practice. They moved to North Platte for retirement to be closer to their family. Paul was an accomplished artist and was an author of short stories and poems. He and Beverley loved to travel, and they visited many foreign countries over their long lifetime together. They were soul mates and were married over 70 years.

Paul was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Irveletta (Adkinson) Edwards, and brother Glen Adkinson. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Beverley, and her siblings, Joyce (Gibson) & Gary Kuhlmann, Terrlyn (Gibson) & Darrell Feeney, and Vicki (Gibson) & Rodney Koenig along with many extended family members and friends.

Carpenter Memorial Chapel will oversee funeral arrangements with a service at 2:00 on Wednesday, March 25th in their chapel.
