Phyllis Lorene Pressler 92 of Fort Worth, Texas originally from North Platte passed away Nov.14, 2020.
She was born on September 16, 1928 to Phillip and Eunice Helzer in Cairo, NE where she attended elementary school and graduated from Cairo High School. She married Roy Pressler on June 26, 1949 and lived in Hordville, NE, Gibbon, NE, Gothenburg, NE, North Platte, NE recently in Fort Worth, TX to be closer to her family. To this union three children were born, Robert, Rex and Dale.
She worked as a stenographer in Kearney, NE, a manager of a Tire and Battery store in Grand Island and as a manager of Lots to Love in the North Platte Mall after her boys graduated from High school. She was active in DAR serving as an officer, and RSVP in North Platte. She was a 50 year member of First United Methodist Church. She and Roy enjoyed traveling, they visiting all 50 states, China, Russia, Europe, New Zealand, Canada and Australia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul; sister, Irene; brother-in-law, Alfred Woodburn; sister-in-law, Leota Helzer; father-in-law, William Pressler; mother-in-law, Goldie Pressler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dorsey and Opal Gay, Elwin and Lucille Ferrisand Arnold and Ruby Shultz.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Pressler; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Jean Pressler; sons, Robert and LouAnn Pressler of Fort Worth, TX, Rex and Cindy Pressler of Glendale, AZ, and Dale Susan Pressler of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday Nov.20, 2020 with Reverend Dr. Douglas Delp officiating at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Family Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday November 19, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the First Methodist Church in North Platte. CDC COVID-19 guidelines will be respected and social distancing and the wearing of masks. The service will be lived streamed via Carpenter Memorial Chapel's Facebook page for those who cannot attend. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Services will be held following all current health directives regarding Covid-19. To plant a tree in memory, please visit the sympathy store.
