Obituary

Robert Charles "RC/Bob" Wilson, of North Platte, Nebraska, and Brownsville, Texas, was born January 27, 1940, and unexpectedly left this World on February 13, 2026.

Bob was born in North Platte to Clyde and LuLu (Haney) Wilson of Ringgold, NE. He attended high school in Tryon (class of 1958). Shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Army serving with the 82nd Airborne Division in North Carolina. After his service he moved back to North Platte and started his career as an Engineer with the Union Pacific Railroad.

Bob loved to be an RV "Snowbird" by spending the winters in Brownsville, and the summers in North Platte. He would often laugh when people told him how much snow or how cold it was where they were. Bob also liked fishing, woodwork, weekly dances, and playing poker with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim (Doris) Wilson, John (Marg) Wilson, sisters Loree (Marvin) Huffman, and Helen Trumbull, wives Bess Wilson and Velma West Wilson, his daughter, Sheila Shaffer, son-in-law Ted Knox and grandson Nathan Wilson.

Left to cherish Bob's memory are his brother-in-law, Larry Trumbull, his son Kevin (Lori) Wilson, daughter Dee Knox, stepdaughters Diana West and Donna West, grandchildren Jason (Aimee) Hansen, Joe (Heather) Hansen, Shannon (Christopher) Harmon, Kelsey Wilson, Doug (Kaylee) Todd and Toni (Hendri) Smit, numerous great grandchildren, and his Palm Resaca Park family.

A celebration of life/memorial will be scheduled for a future date in North Platte, NE.
