Robert William Lorentzen, 62, of North Platte, NE passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. He was born on November 11, 1961 in Omaha, NE the son of Robert Stewart and Gloria (Kallhoff) Lorentzen.
Robert graduated from North Platte high school class of 1980, and then attended Wyoming Technical Institute in WY for a year. He then graduated from the Colorado Institute of Technology in Denver with a degree in computer science. He worked for Data Tix and then Ticket Master as a computer specialist. After moving back to North Platte, he attended Mid-Plains Community College graduating with an associate of science electrician degree. He then went on to work for the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician. Rob loved playing pool and was an active member of the Eagles Club where he played in several pool leagues. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. Rob was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in North Platte. He always enjoyed family get togethers on the 4th of July and his beloved cat "Tiny".
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gloria Lorentzen of North Platte; sisters, Lynn (Jeff) McCammon of North Platte, and Bev (Lonnie) Cerny of Lincoln; brother, Randy (Kathy) Kaster of Omaha; nieces and nephews, Dan (Connie) Baker, Kristy (Nick) Bryant, Danielle (Matt) Cook, Courtney (Alex) Kaster, Miranda (Nicholas) Akins, Max Kaster, John Cerny; great nieces and great nephews, Dylan, Gracelynn, Taylor, Gavin, Gia, Parker, Brooks, Vienna, and Violet.
He was predeceased by his father, and niece, Tara Rogers.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anne Durboraw officiating. The memorial book will be available to sign from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Inurnment will be at a later date in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
