Obituary

Roger Dean Reed, 81, of North Platte, passed away in the early morning hours of March 10, 2019 in North Platte, NE.  He is survived by his fiancé and longtime companion Kay Sundstrom, and his two children, Derek Reed and Sharene Reed.

Roger was born in Willard Ohio.  His Father, Elden Charles Reed of Dutch decent, worked for the B&O railroad.  His mother, Juanita Schuck of German decent gave birth to 3 children, Sonny, Alan and Roger Reed.

Roger served in the US Air Force Reserves specializing in Electronics and Photo Reconnaissance.  His military training eventually leads him to Eastman Kodak Company where he held many different positions including Technical Sales and Senior Account Executive.  His sales specialty was Photographic Paper and Chemicals for large scale Wholesale Photofinishing.  He retired from Eastman Kodak Co after 30 plus years.

Roger was always an Entrepreneur and a Marketing expert.  He had many hobbies and created businesses around his passions.  His love for woodworking led to "Sawdust and Webs" a business where he created Ecology Boxes and sold them at Crafts Shows.  His marketing expertise led him to another venture, sand blasting company logos on glassware, Ice buckets and cheese domes then selling them to real-estate agents for house warming gifts.    Another business was created, "Sign Systems" where he made building directory signs.  Finally he created H2Logos selling private label bottle water to businesses throughout Colorado customizing their designs on water bottles as a way to promote their businesses.

Roger had a zest for life and was loved by many.  People gravitated to his charisma.  Roger had a habit of giving people nicknames.  These names would always "stick" and he remembers everyone by them.  He would always yell out those names when he greeted you.  Soon more and more people would address you by your "Roger Reed" given nickname.  He just had a way to bring people closer.  He did this up to the day he passed away.

An attractive man with beaming blue eyes and parted hair, always cared about his neatness and appearance.  Roger Reed was loved by many and will be missed.

Rest in peace father and beloved friend.
