Sharon J. Neal, 86, lifelong resident of North Platte, NE passed on to her heavenly home on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Linden Court. Sharon was born on December 5, 1937 in North Platte the daughter of Albert Earl and Zelma (Detty) Sexton.
She married Robert A. Neal on July 9, 1962 in CO. Sharon worked alongside her husband as a secretary at Mid-America Dairymen. She and her husband were long time members of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed visiting the sick and homebound alongside her husband as a Deacon, as well as driving older folks to church. Sharon liked to crochet, cross stitch, solve crossword puzzles, and play pitch. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Zelma; husband, Robert; brothers, Harold, Robert, and Robertson Sexton.
Those left to cherish Sharon's memory are her children, Paul L. Payton (Cheryl) of Big Springs, Rhonda Drake (Cameron) of Denver, Mary Szwanek (David) of North Platte, and Leonard Neal (Nemayian) of Aurora; grandchildren, Summer Woodward, Babette Hepperly, Wayne Payton, Leroy Peyton, Rhonda Smith, Lisa Domingus, Alex Domingus, Jr., Fran Cobbs, Jennifer Kelly, Courtnie Braggs, Heather Ogans, and Sam Muthiora; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister in law, Irene Sexton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the donor's choice.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Tryon. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6th at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
