Shirley M. Ridgeway, 83, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Great Plains Health Hospital.

She was born on November 21, 1939 in Haigler, NE, the daughter of Roy and Dorothy "Dot" (Kelley) Rathbun.

Shirley married Henry Duane "Hank" Ridgeway on July 16, 1959.   Hank was the love of her Life.  She was the first to tell you that he spoiled her tremendously.  The two of them never had any children together, but they had a D.R.  After Shirley lost Hank in 2006, D.R. became her world.  He was blessed to have her for his mama.  She worked as part owner of a cleaning business for several years.  Shirley loved the Huskers, "good" country music from the 60's and 70's, Runza onion rings and orange Fanta pop.

Those left to cherish Shirley's memory are her bonus daughter, Terri Mullen (Hershel Riley) of North Platte; sister, Delores Faylor of Haigler; niece, Sherri Morabito and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hank, and brother, LeRoy Rathbun.

Burial will be private at Ft. McPherson National Veterans Cemetery in Maxwell, NE.  The memorial book will be available to sign from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
