"Stan the shoe man" Stanley B. Mitchem passed away peacefully March 19, 2025, in Franklin, Ne.

Stan was born August 18,1942 to Robert and Mildred Mitchem at Ogallala, Ne. Stan moved to North Platte, Ne and began his own business operating a boot and shoe repair company until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Pauline, Almedta, Genevieve, and Theronetta. Stan is survived by his life partner Wendy, and good friends Roger and Alice Olson, and Jaime Roberts and family.

Cremation was chosen. As per Stan's request, there will be no service. The burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at a later date.
