Stanley C Smith, formerly from North Platte area, returned to the lord June 1, 2018, after a six-year battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace & Ernest Smith, two brothers Donald Smith and John Menuey.   Leaving behind his wife, Roxane Smith and a brother, Richard (Mary) Menuey, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was born in Gregory, SD but lived his early years in Stuart, NE where he graduated in 1968.  He joined the Army branch of service in 1968 and spent 18 months in country during the Vietnam War, was honorably discharges in 1972.  From there he returned home and shortly moved to North Platte.

Stanley married Roxane Simants on August 21, 1977 and just last year celebrated their 40 ^th anniversary.  He was active at the Hershey Legion Post, loved fishing and hunting, painting, woodworking, and traveling.   Stanley has worked as a journeyman carpenter, small engine mechanic/owner, and his last job was with Nebraska Machinery as the manager of the rental store where he retired in 2012.  They moved to Papillion NE where he lived until the time of his death.  Cremation was chosen. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Ft.
