Obituary

Steven K. Jaenicke, AKA Jake, 55, of North Platte, passed away July 7, 2017, at Great Plains Health. He was born on November 13, 1961, in North Platte to Robert and Delores (Yanken) Jaenicke. Steve graduated with the class of 1980 from North Platte High School and attended Mid Plains Community College. He worked at Denny Mogis for 20 years and then RC Trailer Sales. Most recently he worked for the North Platte Public Schools as a mechanic for the transportation department. For a number of years, Steve raced stock cars and later enjoyed mud racing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Herbert and Ellen Jaenicke and George and Opal Yanken. He is survived by his parents; sisters, Christie (Richard) Copper and Cindy (Rod) Wheeler all of North Platte; nieces Amy (Adam) Sabatka and Natasha (Kenny) Delso; nephews, Justin (Alicia) Copper, Matthew (Samantha) Wheeler and Nathen (Trina) Wheeler; great nieces and nephews, Cindy and Jacob Copper, Josiah and Nizhoni Munson; Skylyre, Dominik and Jacksyn Delso; Z'ria and Kaylynn Wheeler as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church and burial will be at the Paxton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am to 8pm Wednesday with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 pm at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. A memorial has been established in his name.
