Teresa May (Jones) Pratt passed away on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, at home surrounded by loving family and friends. Teresa was born on April 22nd, 1947, in North Platte, Nebraska to Lester "Les" W. & Lillian V. (Thorne) Jones. She grew up in North Platte with one older sister, Sandra "Sandy" L. (Jones) Pratt.

In 1960, Teresa met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" A. Pratt. Lifelong best friends, Teresa and Dick were united in marriage on January 9th, 1965, and celebrated 59 wonderful years together. They had two children, Stacy M. (Pratt) Burford & William "Billy" T. Pratt; and two granddaughters, Tessa A. Burford & Haley D. Burford.

She graduated from North Platte High School in 1965 and attended college courses at North Platte Community College. She earned her real estate license and sold real estate through the 1980s and also managed medical offices. Long-attending members of North Platte Bethel E-Free Church, Teresa and Dick raised their family in the Christian faith. Christian fellowship remained an integral part of Teresa's life and she held many roles of service, including Sunday school teacher, deaconess, and founding member of Compassionate Friends Support Group.

Teresa enjoyed keeping her hands busy, and lived a life of service, always finding time to be kind to a neighbor. An avid quilter, she made 99 quilts, giving most away. She loved being a mom and grandma. She won many ribbons for her peach preserves, working at it until she won grand champion, and made the best pumpkin pies & angel food cake.

Teresa was preceded in death by her son, William T. Pratt; her parents, Lester W. and  Lillian V. Jones; her parents-in-law, William T. and Ruby V. Pratt; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra L. and William E. Pratt; and her brother-in-law, Clifford "Cliff" K. Pratt.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, Richard "Dick" A. Pratt; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacy M. and William T. Burford III; granddaughters Tessa A. Burford and Haley D. Burford; her cherished pug, Jorgi; and many special and dear friends and family members.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Bethel Church with Pastor Geoff Safford officiating.  Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23rd at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
